The out come of my final major project shall take on the form of a manga styled A5 comic aimed at people of the age of 14- 18. All illustrations will be in gray scale rather then colour
It will be taking the readers on a strange journey. Combining various themes, Such as The circus and the Victorian era.
My story will be following a young boy named basil through his quest to regain his memories and return to where he had originally come from.
Due to the amount of time I am being given it is more realistic for me to create a small ‘one shot’ or tester for the story instead of creating the whole adventure.

Not only has my project taken on the form of what I have a passion for, it also contains many elements that I have personally liked.
I will be able to combine all the things I like. with it also being new and fresh to the industry I’ll be aiming this at
As my project is also a personal project., I have had a lot of time to develop it. My story had originally started as a sci-fi story. Though with the influence of many other things such as, games and my own personal tastes it developed into what it is today.
A few of the stories that had inspired me were drawn by a couple of my hero’s. such as ‘kuroshitsuji’ by Yana Toboso and ‘D.gray –Man’ by Katsura Hoshino, both included Victorian aspects in their stories.
I was also inspired by ‘Pandora Hearts’ by Jun Mochizuki, this one wasn’t really a favourite of mine, but the use of a new more evil semi parallel world interested me and that idea helped me come up and create ‘Looking glass’ which is the world this story is set in
~
I intend to create my project with traditional tools. For example screen tones, G-pen, ink and copics for coloured illustrations. My reasoning for using a traditional method is as most professionally created comics are drawn with traditional tools. Also I personally prefer the finish of a traditionally inked comic page.
Over the 17 weeks I will be given to create this progect
I am planning on splitting it up into 4 sections
The first week will be used for creating thumbnails of each page
Week 2-6 will be used to create the big story boards for the pages
Week7 will be left for beta testing the storyboards I have created and any changes that may need to be made
Week 8-11 will be inking and screen toning pages
Week 12-14 will be editing, type setting and creating the coloured back and front cover
Leaving week 15-17 to sort out printing
~
to record what I do on each of these weeks I am planning on writing in a diary. I will be explaining what I have created and done at the end of each week.
In terms of feedback from others about my project I will be asking people to write in the diary their views on what I have created with a signature
I will also scan in each page to document step by step processes
